Simon Gilliver
Flautist, Piano Accompanist, Teacher
A graduate of the University of Birmingham and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Simon Gilliver is a musician of exceptional versatility who enjoys an extremely varied career. Equally in demand as a flautist and a pianist, Simon has a huge wealth of experience in orchestral, chamber and duo playing. His teaching experience includes school posts, private teaching and work at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. His work has also included conducting, composing and arranging.
After graduation, Simon worked for many years in London and the Home Counties, and during his time there he founded a professional orchestra, the Bishop’s Stortford Sinfonia, where he was Artistic Director for five years. In 2020 he relocated to Bournemouth.
